The epidemic status of main broiler diseases in my country in recent years

Current status of Newcastle disease and avian influenza:

The currently prevalent genotype of Newcastle disease is genotype VII. The La Sota vaccine currently used can prevent the lethal attack of the epidemic strain, but it cannot prevent its detoxification. Laboratory studies have shown that after 21 days of immunization with La Sota vaccine, the epidemic strain (genotype VII) is used to challenge the virus, and the detoxification rate is between 30-40%. This is also one of the main reasons for the occurrence of atypical Newcastle disease in the later stage of broilers.

Current status of avian influenza (H9 subtype):

In the first half of 2020, Zhongke Gene conducted molecular biology analysis on 11 avian influenza (H9 subtype) strains isolated, and the results showed that they were all branch I strains. The current epidemic characteristics of avian influenza (H9 subtype): coexistence of new and old strains, rapid mutation of the strain, and enhanced virulence. The HA gene nucleotide homology between different isolates is 89%-99.6%, which is quite different. The current epidemic situation of infectious bronchitis:

Avian infectious bronchitis (IB) is one of the most important infectious diseases in the global poultry industry. Due to the characteristics of its RNA virus, it is very prone to mutation and recombination, resulting in the emergence of multiple serotypes. The cross-protection power between different types is quite different, and there is even no cross-protection power. Infectious bronchial viruses circulating in my country mainly include QX strain, 4/91 strain, Mass strain, TW strain and so on. In the first half of 2020, Zhongke Gene has isolated a total of 8 wild viruses, of which 6/8 belong to the QX-Like strain, 1/8 belong to the 4/91-Like strain, and 1/8 belong to the New-type I type.

Current status of adenovirus epidemic:

Among the 8 FADV-1 strains isolated by Zhongke Gene in 2019, 1/8 were serotype 2 strains and 7/8 were serotype 4 strains. In the first half of 2020, the genetic evolution analysis of the Hexon gene was performed on the 6 isolated FADV-1 strains. Among them, 4/6 belonged to serotype 4 strains and 2/6 belonged to serotype 8b strains. Therefore, farms infected with adenovirus and farms with adenovirus outbreaks nearby need to pay special attention to their epidemic status, prevent viruses, disinfect chicken coops, and reduce flock stress. Epidemic status of infectious bursal disease:

In the first half of 2020, Zhongke Gene conducted molecular biology genetic evolution analysis on the 4 isolated infectious bursal disease epidemic strains, and the results showed that 4/4 belonged to the variant strains. Clinically, there is no peak death phenomenon. Generally, the chicken flocks have fever, lack of energy, and sporadic deaths. Necropsy revealed minor bleeding from the bursa of Fabricius, with jelly-like exudation, and minor bleeding from leg muscles and chest muscles.
