Since the beginning of winter, my country has discovered avian influenza epidemics among poultry. Several sporadic cases of human infection with avian influenza have also been reported in a few areas in southern my country. The main source of human infection with avian influenza is contact with infected live poultry or visits to contaminated live poultry markets. In the initial stage, patients generally present with flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, and low sputum, which may be accompanied by headache, muscle aches, and general malaise. The condition of severely ill patients develops rapidly, and most of them show severe pneumonia and other manifestations.
